The BCCSU, together with Vancouver Coastal Health, Interior Health, Fraser Health, and Island Health, is conducting a drug checking pilot evaluation at select supervised consumption sites (SCS), overdose prevention sites (OPS), and festivals in BC. Individuals who access drug checking services will be invited to participate in questionnaires and interviews to help us develop an understanding of the accessibility, uptake, and behavioural changes that come from people using drug checking. The goal of the evaluation is to offer confirmation and performance of two point-of-care drug checking technologies in the context of the opioid crisis and develop information about how drug checking services can impact overdose risk practices to drive public health policy for point-of-care service around BC.

For more information about the drug checking evaluation, visit www.bccsu.ca/drug-checking/ or contact us at [email protected].

We are also continually evaluating our drug checking technologies. For up-to-date reports, visit our Reports page.
